AND SUDDENTLY IT’S GOLD…
Pushing Boundaries: Reflecting on My Triumphs at the International Photography Awards
Last year, I wrote about my journey through the International Photography Awards (IPA) with a mix of pride and reflection. I shared my excitement over securing a second-place finish and a few honorable mentions, but I also spoke of the relentless pursuit of more, of pushing beyond what I had already achieved. This year, I find myself once again looking back on a path marked by both growth and new milestones — but this time, the rewards have been even more fulfilling.
I am thrilled to announce that I’ve secured a prestigious gold medal in the Special category for my photograph titled The Bridge of Souls, captured under the magical night skies of Venice. This achievement not only brings me immense pride but has also earned me the title of Professional Special, Night Photography of the Year. It’s a moment that feels like the culmination of years of dedication, risk-taking, and artistic exploration.
Alongside this incredible honour, I’m grateful to have received four honorable mentions in various categories, each capturing a different facet of my creative vision:
Venetian Dawn – Architecture, Historic
Modern Staircases in Alpine Retreats – Architecture, Interiors
Season’s Edge – Nature, Seasons
Winter Reverie – Special, Pets
These awards, while deeply gratifying, remind me of the same paradox I reflected on last year: the balance between celebrating our achievements and continuing to push forward in search of new horizons.
The journey through the IPA awards has been a continuous evolution, not just in the technical aspects of photography but in the way I see the world through my lens. It’s a journey marked by moments of victory, but also by growth, introspection, and an unwavering passion for the art form that has shaped so much of my life.
As I look to the future, I’m reminded once again that the pursuit of excellence is never truly over. There is always another photograph waiting to be captured, another story waiting to be told. The IPA awards have not only validated my efforts but have also renewed my drive to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, and to continue capturing moments that resonate deeply with others.
To everyone who has supported me along this path — family, friends, mentors, and fellow photographers — I extend my heartfelt thanks. Your encouragement and belief in my vision have been my guiding light.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me — a journey through light, shadow, and the ever-expanding world of photography.
